Soon, Tom knows that Summer is the woman with whom he wants to spend the rest of his life. Although Summer does not believe in relationships or boyfriends, Tom and Summer become more than just friends. Through the trials and tribulations of Tom and Summer's relationship, Tom could always count on the advice of his two best friends, McKenzie and Paul. However, it's Rachel, Tom's adolescent sister, who is his voice of reason. After all is said and done, Tom is the one who ultimately has to make the choice to listen or not.

Good - (500) Days of Summer (2009) 95 min. Wonderful poetic ending is enough to give this one a “good” rating. For most of the film, we have a young guy who’s tortured by a “relationship” he thinks he’s having but in reality there’s no real relationship to be had. The film is interspersed with witty dialogue and appropriate songs to describe the mood of our protagonist. It’s not as great as what I’ve been hearing but it is worthwhile, none the less.
A hetero, so-cool-it-hurts, not-exactly love story, featuring the talents of attractive young couple Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Zooey Deschanel. Besides a few smirks along the way, this film also delivers a radical reappraisal of traditional relationships, replacing old-style romance, passion, & forthrightness with fatalism, indecision, & evasion. All I can say in response is how glad I am not to be young & postmodern any more.
