Add a CommentThe Angus Glen book club read this book and everyone loved it. There is something for everyone: Mystery, supernatural, romance, friendship and humor. The characters were all likable and you could relate to them. There was character growth and development. Not just for the female reader but enjoyable for all. This book was a quick read that was easy to get into and to enjoy.
A sweet story of friendship with just a bit of magical elements you almost wonder if it's more our imagination playing tricks. A quick an easy read that is well written and engaging.
When I want a light read, without agonising psychological elements, I turn to Sarah Addison Allen. She never disappoints, and the magical/mystical elements make me want to visit North Carolina.
The Peach Keeper is a Fantastic Novel! I could not put this book down! Sarah Addison Allen knows how to captivate her audience. The character's each have their pasts and this is reflected by present day. The relationships held between generations are absolutely key, as they transform events from 1936 to today. The mystical remenents of Tucker never leaves the town of Walls of the Water, but it is how these character's lives change because of it, that is so fascinating.
What a Wonderful story. Love all her books.
Once again, this author delivers an amazing read. It is not a light story, full of cheer, but rather day to day life in a time of change and buried ghosts that come to life, a tale with all its bumps, bruises, and hurts, and the power of friendship sprinkled with folk stories and magic.
If this was your first Sarah Addison Allen book and you weren't enthralled, I encourage you not to give up on this author. Her first three books are truly delightful. I was quite disappointed by this one though. It just seemed too hurried. I hope any future books are more like her earlier work.
I am a huge fan of this author, this book however was my least favourite of the bunch. Too simple and frankly a little boring. Not a terrible book, just didnt live up to the expectations built up by her previous work. Garden Spells is still my favourite, and the one that got me hooked.
Never got into it.....very boring. I was very disappointed on how long the beginning went on an on(about pointless things, like which coffee you drink tells your deepest and darkest secrets....), which may be part of the reason why I never finished it. Oh well.....guess not all books can be good.....I doubt that I read any Sarah Addison Allen books again, but you never know....I also wouldn't recommend this to a friend.
This is a very good, simple, easy read. I couldn't put it down and read in a matter of hours.
