Once there, her plight attracts the attention of the Secret League of Widowed Darners, an all-but-invisible army pulling strings behind the scenes to create happy endings. Soon founding members, Violetta and Luciana, are scheming to mend Lily's broken heart-and to enlist her help for their struggling pasticceria. With the lush landscape of a sumptuous Tuscan summer in the background, and the tantalizing scent of fresh-baked cantucci in the air, Dolci di Love is the joyful celebration of a modern recipe for life. Add a CommentThis was a very intriguing book. The writer combined the lives of the betrayed wife with the widows of this Italian town and the daughter of her estranged husband. Worth reading!
A lovely story of broken hearts mended, set in Tuscany. I'm ready to book my plane ticket there right now!
Lily goes to Italy to confront her husband about his "love child". In the picturesque town of Montevedova, she is befriended by a group of widows who want to mend Lily's broken heart. Unexpected twists make for a compelling read. I didn't want to put it down and when I found myself awake during the wee hours one night; I had to pick it up.
