Clare Burke's life took a devastating turn when she tried to protect her sister, Anne, from an abusive and controlling husband and ended up serving prison time for assault. The verdict largely hinged on Anne's defense of her spouse - all lies - and the sisters have been estranged ever since.

Comment
Add a CommentI thought this book was a true page turner. I enjoyed reading it but was a bit disappointed with the ending - it did end abruptly - like the author had to finish the book quickly. Otherwise, I enjoyed it and would read another book by this author.
An extremely disappointing book. Too much of the story involved description of birds and their behavior to the detriment of character development. The characters were one-dimensional and not likable. The plot was plodding and predictable. The ending was abrupt and totally unsatisfying.
