Description

This is a beginner's list of books that are helpful or appropriate for kids with Autism and their families. It is by no means extensive. Most titles deal with Autism and/or Asperger's explicitly. However, advice from an experienced Instructor Therapist is to let your child pick their books according to their interests to get them excited about reading on their terms. More general advice from that IT is to read books together that "cover topics like emotions, but also ones that give kids an idea what to expect for everyday things. Books about shopping in stores, going to a birthday party, etc., where the focus is on laying the groundwork for what to expect in everyday situations."
