I have enjoyed many books by Jon Katz and this one was one of my favorites. Jeff Bridges was a good choice for the part, but I wish they had explored more of the book and made the movie a little longer. Overall I liked it.

It is amazing how a dog can a help someone who is lost in his life. I read the book a while ago, which was better, as well as others by Jon Katz. But I thought this movie really showed a change, or healing in the protagonist, which was, at the very least, inspired by the dog.

An hour and 20 minutes long, with one hour of the dog misbehaving and Jeff Bridges giving chase, out of shape and sweating in oversize clothing. A few minutes are devoted to the dog whisperer's methods, and that's about it. Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars, About Time, Unbroken) is good in a not-much-to-do role.

i thought this movie was amazing, really inspirational. a lot of people dont get the main idea in this movie. its about a man finding his way through life, and along the way helping a dog that has suffered through his.

Lame movie. The best part was seeing another dog herd sheep. Better to read Jon Katz' books or follow his blog: http://www.bedlamfarm.com/

Nothing special... Devon's "recovery" seemed much to rushed/skipped-over compared to the amount of time spent on his behavioural problems... and the movie seemed short, so it's not like that had to cut it out.

Jeff Bridges plays a slob amidst a flock of other repulsive characters in this pointless, implausible, unresolved, exploitive dog of a film. Ryder, the border collie who co-stars along with 4 canine stand-ins, deserves much better.

Dumb dumb dumb... boring boring boring! Even "YOU LUCKY DOG" was better... and I didn't think much of that, either!
