Fantastic. I wish I had read this book when it was 1st published. It may have saved me a lot of heart ache & self esteem. I'd encourage any young adult to read this.

Haunting memories came back to me as I read this. The sexual revolution was a lie & we have sacrificed our families, children, and ourselves in the name of so-called liberation. We're enslaved to a sexually sick culture that makes girls and women into objects in a way that is much worse than prior to the 60's.

My mom's baby boom generation prides itself on their sexual freedoms while complaining that they have to spend holidays with their ex-spouses & their current spouse. Yes we've come a long way baby...and that way is killing us in a way war, famine, and guns don't. The soul does matter, mortality can be useful, and we need to stop pretending our supposed liberation isn't being forced upon us.

Optimistic, refreshing, and terrific. Absolutely worth reading. The biggest points in modesty’s favor I can recap here are 1) it gives women a very necessary shield to rebuff unwanted advances and choose who they want to be with, 2) it teaches men and women how to relate to each other as men and women, thus making relations between the sexes more ordered and less destructive, and 3) to use Mrs. Shalit’s words, “Modesty fills in the blank. It answers not the crude *how* of femininity, but the beautiful *why*. And I say this all as a young man who wants to see better relations between men and women in the world. This book is a bottomless inspiration.
