The Batverse is the top of the line for the comics majors. The Batman books have lots of talent and many of its denizens are excellent characters, villains and not villains. I can't keep it to straight nowadays who actually is Batman but Dick Grayson here makes the only possible one besides Bruce, and Damian is an outstanding Robin. The stories are pretty good with interesting villains, including ex Robin, the Red Hood.

Cornell writing the book is a substantial improvement over Morrison's earlier work, as Cornell is one of the better writers in the comics industry. This collection features three different arcs (a refreshing change from much of the industry, which seems to write towards six issue arcs, specifically for the trade paperback market) with different art teams; the White Knight story is the best of the lot, but Cornell has a good take on the characters throughout and the partnership of Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne. As has been said before, it's a shame DC decided to reboot the universe, rather than have Bruce and Dick continue to share the mantle of being Batman.
