Add a CommentThis book was alright, but not nearly as good as Rice's previous books. It feels a little bit forced, like she wasn't as into writing it as her vampire novels.
It's definitely missing the zing of the Vampire Chronicles/Lives of the Mayfair Witches, but is still worth reading. Team Jacob will definitely be into it, and the scenery of the California redwoods is enough to rival the brush that so dreamily painted New Orleans years ago.
Great read!
I loved this book. A very fun read, lots of sex with wolves!!! Really nice educated wolves. Very fun.
Classic and therefore awesome Anne Rice, this lady knows how to write a rich story. My favorite is still the Mayfair trilogy but this was great too. Although I think a near legend like Rice deserves a little better editing, found small grammatical mistakes like his where he should be or visa versa :-)
“The Wolf Gift” left too many questions unanswered and to be quite frank, I did not care much for the plot or the characters. I believe that every book of a series (Rice will be releasing a sequel later this year) must be a complete work in itself for it to be worthwhile to the reader. This one simply did not meet that criterion.
I have loved everything Anne Rice has ever written...except this. I could barely get through it.
I read Interview With A Vampire years ago, and loved it. Anne Rice has such a great knack for description, and in this one manages to blend it with great pacing too. I read the whole thing in four days; I couldn't put it down.
this is a really good book. It's about time the creature does some good - a fast read - lots of good humor in it too.
I love Lots of Anne Rice books. But this book did not hold my interest. I would not recommend this book.
