Evie Blanchard was at the top of her field in Los Angeles. But when an emotional year forces her to walk away from her job as a physical therapist, she moves from L.A. to Hope's Crossing seeking a quieter life. The last thing she needs is to get involved with the handsome, arrogant Brodie Thorne and his injured daughter, Taryn.

A self-made man and single dad, Brodie will do anything to get Taryn the rehabilitation she needs - even if it means convincing Evie to move in with them. And despite her vow to keep an emotional distance, Evie can't help but be moved by Taryn's spirit, or Brodie's determination to enlist her help.

With laughter, courage and more than a little help from the kindhearted people of Hope's Crossing, Taryn may get the healing she deserves - and Evie and Brodie might just find a love they never knew could exist.

A sweet but practical romance recommended by a local patron because she knows I enjoy beading. The atmosphere is scented by pines, summer blossoms, coloring aspens, complemented by wide open mountain vistas and tourist town quaintness. Evie, an accomplished physiotherapist, came to town seeking a new life far from the emotional reminders of helping and then losing a severely disabled daughter. Working in the local bead shop is just the soothing work she needs. Abrasive, wealthy, persuasive and handsome Brodie is just what she doesn't need. But he really needs Evie and her therapeutic skill to help his own disabled daughter back to health.

I rarely read romances, but also recommend this cozy and well written one.
