Two big charming characters, one White one Indian that are best friends. Both protecting their area of Wyoming. Law enforcement and Native American heritage presented in present day. Wyoming at its best. And all the main characters are presented with love. The BEST western author I have read.

An interesting story with a twist. Though, I have to say that his protagonist seems like he must be a little old (he supposedly served in Vietnam (so should be close to 70 or 80 years old, right?)) to be doing some of the stuff in the story, even if he has kept in shape. But, since there was no age stated for the character, I only thought of that after I read the book, which I liked just fine. This was the first book in this series I've read, so I may go back and read some of the others. Overall, a good story.

This description is incorrect; the site of the wedding doesn't burn down, but is made unavailable by a grouchy tribal member. But still an excellent book which captures the essence of the area.

I first discovered Longmire through the tv series, which i adore. However, the books exceed my expectations. Craig Johnson really knows how to write!

The continuing tale of contemporary sheriff Walt Longmire remains a delight. Plot, characters, atmosphere, pacing... all the elements of a good mystery are in place and provide for an engrossing read.

Very good read. This is the first time reading this author. I liked the way he Develops the plot and the humor throughout this book. I will definitely be reading his previous books. "A" read.

Craig Johnson does not disappoint in his latest Walt Longmire book. He introduces new characters as well as keeping us informed about his old ones, with the attendant humour his readers come to expect. He once again shows insight into life on the rez without glamourizing it or patronizing it. If you like western books, mysteries and contemporary fiction, give this a try.
