Originally broadcast on July 30, 2013, this 60-minute documentary investigates the number of deaths that took place in the assisting living facilities---namely, Emeritus Corporation doing business as Emeritus Senior Living.
Emeritus is supposedly specialized in assisted living services for seniors who need help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, meals and medications management.
Most facilities are supposed to provide expert care for Alzheimer's and memory care residents, and offer respite stays for seniors who need short-term stays.
Emeritus has locations in 47 states, with several facilities within each state.
However, these facilities seem to have serious problems.
The company is struggling with a $23 million punitive imposition against it in a civil lawsuit in 2013.
It is a shockingly alarming and heart-wrenching documentary.
