Good documentary about the band Big Star.

I really don't like the Memphis sound or the music of this group but this documentary was awesome! Anyone interested in being in a band should watch this. It shows the ripple effects of a small group on the music industry that are still being felt today. An inspiration for current musicians banging their heads against the wall, not thinking they can make a difference. They can!

This film's worth a look, especially if it's free.

If you really, really, really, really like Big Star you may be able to sit through TWO HOURS of pudgy old folks talking about them.

Rare performance.?
Nope, Not here.

I agree with Glencoe_Mike... the movie was a mess, didn't hold my attention the entire way through - BUT it was definitely interesting in parts and a good introduction to some music and history I wasn't aware of; I think it's worth watching for that reason.

Can't say this was much of a movie as it was rather a mess. But if you're a fan of Big Star and of the Memphis scene or music scenes in general then it's probably worth seeing.
