Not a huge fan of animal fiction, but definitely a fan of the rocky mountains and learning new things about them.

Having met the author as our interpretive guide on a hike to Grassi Lakes, I figured I'd give his novel a read.

A pleasant tale set in our own Rockies - you can see Raven's End as you approach the mountains on Highway #1 from the east. Ben Gadd is a formidable naturalist, and the story has roots in his vast knowledge. If you can accept the ploy of talking ravens, pikas, and the like, you will find this an interesting and enjoyable read.

This is a very interesting book about the natural history of ravens told in fictional form. While at times the conversations are a bit juvenile, that can be readily overlooked as the information the book contains is fascinating when sorted from the fictional embelishment. I liked it!
