In the latest addition to the sweet Simply Small board-book series, hedgehog Emma and her three sisters trudge up a steep hill following their dad. Motivated by the fresh air, Emma picks a flower for each of her exhausted sisters and accepts a kiss from each in return.

As always, the simple, uncluttered illustrations complement Opal's sparse but efficient text. The final page spread depicts all five hedgehogs cuddled together in a blissful clump, the sisters still clutching their precious flowers. The creatures, hill and flowers have bold outlines with soft colours inside, creating eye-catching but unobtrusive contrast.

All of Opal's books offer charming stories for sharing either one-on-one or with a small group; each celebrates small acts of kindness and love.
