During a road trip through Chile, boorish American expatriate Jamie and three Chilean brothers plan to set off in search of the prized San Pedro cactus and its promise of unrivaled hallucinations. But during a night's drunken stupor Jamie invites free-spirited fellow American Crystal Fairy along on their psychedelic-driven journey, and before long Crystal's devil-may-care attitude gives them more of an adventure than any of them had bargained for.

I haven't seen such a charming and original film like this one since "Y tu Mama Tambien". Hide it from the kids, but any open minded adult will revel in this beautiful heartfelt story that is very clever and extremely entertaining.

This film....in my opinion....is the rare gem amongst the mountain of rocks that is todays Cinema. Kudos to those whose creativity brought it forth, those visionaries who financed it, and our wonderful library system who was wise enough to offer such a treasure.

Sweet and quirky character driven indie film; not for all tastes. Gabby Hoffman is a gem. If you are particularly nostalgic for the bohemians and hippies of your college days, you will enjoy this film.

An interesting cross-cultural mascalin road trip back to nature. Engaging and sharp, but not overly 'zany'. Worth seeing. (Kev's PICkS: For an artistic and sensitive, but slower, modern (marajuana road trip back to nature) 'sequel' to 'Easy Rider' ...be sure to see 'Old Joy'.)

Fine movie about two Norteamericanos in Chile and their three Chilean companions. One of them is played by writer director Sebastián Silva.
He, a bit of a creep, she, a lose hippie type.

I really liked this one. Not for everyone though.
Reminded me a bit of the work of Dennis Hopper, his early films; Easy Rider and the excellent masterpiece, The Last Movie.

Really nice movie about a couple of people who get to know each other through mescaline. Funny, touching and real.
