As a professor, I have a professional interest in learning theory, but this is an engaging and substantial work that is presented in the new "popular academic" style, if that is even a term. Many people are now buttressing their findings with examples and (others') research, and Carey does so well here. Creative and effective examination of many aspects of learning.
