A famous author returns to his hometown and is murdered. It's up to Charlie Harris, the town's librarian, and his cat Diesel, to find the killer before the wrong person is arrested for the crime. The trouble is, every last one of Charlie's friends and coworkers had a score to settle with the novelist.
OK, if you like sloppy writing. I mean really - the protagonist/narrator lost both his wife AND his aunt to pancreatic cancer AND one of the suspects is dying is of pancreatic cancer as well!!??
Every noise the bleeping cat makes is mentioned - yet not a peep as to how the 50 year old narrator managed to be a teenage father while completing whatever the heck degree you need to become a librarian.

I thought the author left a lot of questions unanswered at the end, but fun to read if you're a librarian or a cat lover.
