I love Patricia Briggs, so it was no surprise when I enjoyed this Mercy Thompson-verse anthology. The author's usual style brings charm, suspense, and emotion to these stories. Some were stronger than others, but overall the result is something surprisingly good for a seemingly unrelated series of stories. Briggs pulls together some loose ends in this series of short stories. For any fan of Mercy Thompson or Alpha & Omega, this is a must read. As other reviews have stated, make sure to have read up to Silver Borne, at least, to avoid spoilers.

Seriously, who cries over werewolves? Obviously, I mean besides me. This is the SECOND time Patricia Briggs has snuck up on me and did a whammy on my heart. I had read a couple of these stories before, but still enjoyed the second read. However, when one 2000+ year-old werewolf takes human for for the first time in over 100 years to save a child, and a second (the Moor) who just wants to die discovers a reason to live--well, it tore tears right out of my eyes. If you are a fan of Mercy Thompson or The Alpha and the Omega, this is a must read. (Just have a tissue ready when you read "Roses in Winter.") Fun notes from the author before each story.

Will wait for the audiobook to arrive (fingers crossed).

Some of the stories are really good, and none failed to entertain, so I'd recommend this anthology to Mercy Thompson fans. Just make sure you've read up to Night Broken, or there'll be spoilers.
