I have all three volumes, and they make fascinating reading. Ebert was not the greatest writer on film; he doesn't rise to the heights of Kael, Sarris, Farber, French and a few others, but he can be very satisfying. There are few lapses in taste; he does list Psycho as a great film.

He always gives an unexpected insight & turns up something interesting which I never knew before 'till reading his film reviews.
