Kennedy's last days: he had not so secret plans to dump LBJ from the 1964 Presidential ticket. LBJ was in such hot water he'd hidden out at his ranch most of the month. The Senate was investigating he and his close associates for various corrupt deals in Texas, before he ran with JFK in 1960. At the moment of the assassination, a Mr. Reynolds was scheduled to testify against Johnson, before a committee. Not long after LBJ took over the White House, that appearance was canceled, and no one talked about it again.
