As we mourn the late Prince, we can take some comfort in the vast body of work he left us with. 1990's "Graffiti Bridge" is something of a transition album for him. Its reputation might not be as high because it is the soundtrack for a mostly forgotten film. At 17 songs and over an hours, there's a lot of music here and Prince enlists the Time, George Clinton, and Mavis Staple to help out. This album was also the segue to his New Power Generation era. There aren't a lot of hits on this, but it's a funky, festive album with lots of great guest spots. I've not seen the movie, but it's supposed to be pretty awful.
