A lovely read-aloud to explore seasons. With "peek-through" pages, we're able to see owl sitting very still, even as the tree changes and other critters come and go. Readers will enjoy watching the changes from page to page and the lilting, rhyming text. Great for Earth Day or Arbor Day storytimes!

Books with peek-through bits aren't usually my favorite, because I think they sometimes rely on the gimmick in order to skate by with lackluster art and text, but that's not the case here at all. The rhyming text is a sweet, soothing look at the changing seasons as seen in a single tree, and the artwork is so beautiful that I kind of want to frame it. Lovely.
