Wow so when I started reading this book I wasn't ready for the emotional roller coaster I was about to be apart of. I have to say I really enjoyed it. I did get a bit emotional at times and even found myself tearing up at times because there were scenes that were very intense.

So the story is about a girl, Jill, whose Mom ended up walking out on her and her Dad. This took a huge toll on her to the point where she was drifting from her two closest friends. Then she catches her neighbors fighting and she decides she's going to try to fix their relationship since that's what she's good out. However things don't end up working out as she wanted. She slowly realizes she needs to fix the problems in her life before she can help other people.

I did feel this story was a bit slow at first but man things ended up getting intense pretty quickly and I quickly found myself not wanting to put this book down. I had to know what was going to happen. This book completely surprised me. This is a great debut book. I know the author has another book coming out later this and I can't wait to read it.

This was a compelling realistic fiction with a LOT of drama--perhaps too much. Jill was a fairly likable character, and I loved her relationship with her father. I feel like Daniel was more of an after-thought as a character, someone to add more drama to the already melodramatic story. However, I will give props to the author for addressing how situations that look terrible, might not have happened exactly as we think, and I applaud Sean for never giving up, and being an all-around great guy.

Jill’s world turns upside down when her mom leaves, only leaving a post-it note behind. Only Jill knows the reason why she left and is unable to tell the reason to her dad. She's known as the girl who can fix anything but this time she's unable to fix herself. When a new neighbour moves in next door she’s able to let go a little and finally tell someone about her life but even he poses challenges she has to work to overcome.
A great novel about letting go of the past and being able to come to terms with it. It was a great read. I loved it because it was full of great twists that you don't see coming but all works out to a great ending. Rating 4 out of 5 stars
