I loved having Carrie read her memoir, including having her daughter read her diary entries. I normally am not a fan of audiobooks, but this one was well worth it in my opinion. While it only showed a very small portion of her life, it was so wonderful to hear it in her own words!
Carrie's diary entries and poetry are enchanting and clever, made even better when read by her daughter, Billie Lourd. This memoir peels back a lot of her strong protective humor (which is great and still very present) to reveal insecurities underneath "Leia" that are so easy to relate to.
How sadly ironic that I finished listening to this just days before her death. It is somewhat revealing of Ms. Fisher though I felt the portion spent on discussing her relationship with Harrison Ford went on a bit too long for my liking. Nevertheless, I'm glad that I was able to inquire my ear towards her life. She will be missed.
