My sons and I really enjoyed reading this book together. It was beautiful and suspenseful. Often it was hard to wait until the next bedtime to find out what would happen. I would recommend it as a read aloud book to families with kids over the age of 7 or 8 (some parts might scare younger or sensitive kids).
