Okey-dokey, watcha got here is the darkly humorous and utterly riveting third season. Ewan McGregor gives one heckuva performance in dual roles as the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, Emmit Stussy, and his younger brother, Ray, a potbellied parole officer with a big chip on his shoulder. The only bright spot in Ray's life is Nikki, a not-so-good woman with brains, beauty and a passion for competitive bridge.

I don't care to try and rank Season 3 against the previous. I found Season 3 to be worthwhile. My only issue is with Ewan McGregor. He is Ewan McGregor; in the same way certain actors are no longer able to be the character they are portraying. Ewan McGregor (and not the character) envelops the space.
That's my opinion.
I loved the humour, the situations spiralling out of control - hard to believe they are based on true stories.
Waiting for Season 4...

Totally agree, this season didn’t match up to the others, especially season 1 with
Billy Bob, in fact I got bored and didn’t finish it. Ewan McGegors dual roles were amazing, shows how good he is with accents.

We love the Fargo series. Intelligent script and wonderful acting. Each one is unique in its own way. This one didn't really resolve itself, I mean sure there was a definite ending to the story but for all the police investigation, the police didn't actually solve the mystery. Akin to the second season, people mostly just wrapped things up by killing each other. End of story.
I agree with a fellow poster, I enjoy the seasons best in order of release. 1, 2, then 3. We are looking very forward to season 4.

Season 3 of Fargo is in many way similar to the previous seasons - full of wacky characters, a high body count, and humour at places. However, I do find holes in the script here and there. So I will place it below Seasons 1 and 2 in my overall rating.
