been hearing about this for a while and finally started it. One of the funniest cartoons I've ever seen.

This hilariously irreverent cartoon explores the dysfunctionally funny yet surprisingly sweet relationship between an insane/genius inventor grandfather, Rick, and his awkwardly amiable 14-year-old grandson Morty as they travel through time and space on their absurd adventures. Although it might be too edgy for most teens and kids, and even some adults, fans of "Futurama" and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim will appreciate this clever series.

Couldn't gravitate towards this one.

A truly bizarre, funny, disturbing and goofy series. Laughed a lot, often shocked (often simultaneously). Very much an adult cartoon.

Rick and Morty is wacky, irreverent and very funny. I don't typically watch animated series or many science fiction series, but I like this Adult Swim show a lot. Due to the content (sex, alcohol, language and violence), it's not for children--adults and teens only. I think my favorite episode is the second one, Lawnmower Dog, which spoofs Inception, Nightmare on Elm Street and more. I enjoyed season 2 also.

Combine hard science fiction with existential philosophy, add two servings of cartoon violence and dark humor and you get Rick and Morty.

I liked this, but it may only be funny to hardcore SF geeks & Dan Harmon fans.
Viewer beware!

This is an insane, weird, hyper cartoon. Morty is an innocent kid who tries his best to get by in the world and do the right thing. Rick is his super genius cynic alcoholic grandpa who has seen too much and lives with Morty's dysfunctional family. They go on adventures through space, time, and different dimensions together. Much of the comedy comes from the dynamic of Rick's knowing cynicism vs Morty's relative innocence. There is a lot of vulgarity and sexual innuendo but they are more for tone. It's not shock based comedy. The show manages to be pretty clever, awesome, and funny most of the time.

Heavy on the outer space side of sci-fi. A few cultural or history references as poignant but only mildly funny punchlines. Too bad that the only jokes that I found funny were several of the sexual jokes. Producer Dan Harmon's early seasons of Community were far superior.

Let me tell you, this cartoon is a rare flower indeed! The best description I can manage is take the movies, Back to the Future, Weird Science, then add, Ren and Stimpy, now blend, and that is Rick and Morty. Also, this program is chock full of classic, yet campy, Eighties and Nineties film references. So, if you are a fan of any or all of these characteristics then you need this gem in your life!

Morty: Don't run. Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody's gonna die. Come watch TV.

Do yourself a favor and pop by Pirates of the Pancreas. Obviously I’m biased, but I think it’s great, Morty. It’s a bunch of *belches* pirates running around a *belches* pancreas. We don’t whitewash it, either, Morty. I mean, the pirates are really rapey.
