Let's face it: Child can write short chapters or novella length chapters without sacrificing suspense; he can write in the third person or in the first person with equal narrative aplomb; and he can deal with ugly and despicable human atrocities without glorifying or sugar-coating them. In other words, he knows how to wear his big-boy pants with pizazz.

Further to the comment about violence and kill, kill, kill----I have much the same reaction every I re-read the Old Testament.....

Have read most Jack Reacher novels and enjoyed them all. Love that Lee Child doesn't feel the need to expand his novels with extra words of description. Many novels I have read use so much description they lose me after a few chapters. Looking forward to the next adventure with Jack Reacher.

Another great Reacher story. In this one, set in New York, between Central Park and Madison Square Park, Reacher uses subways and walks in order to get around. Thus expect lots of description and directions about getting from point A to point B. If one was familiar with the city, these paragraphs would probably add to the visual impact of the story. In "Gone Tomorrow", Reacher battles alone against a crew of terrorists, including 2 females, and, of course, is victorious, but not without getting some of the stuff he has dished out. Timely topic of politician involvement where one's friends can become one's enemies. One of the better Reacher novels.

Another episode in the like of Jack Reacher who has grown to be one of my favorite fictional characters. Another fine effort by Lee Child. 8 of 10 for me.
