I love Odd Thomas, and this third book is enjoyable as he tries to take a time out at a monastery. But, he is a magnet for misadventure. His ability to see ghosts and his psychic abilities can cause as much trouble for him as they are helpful at times. I love his ability to stand up for the weak, and see the worth in human life no matter how damaged.

I love the Odd Thomas character and Dean Koontz is now one of my favorite writers. The only thing I didn't like about this book was it seemed to end abruptly and conveniently, though I was taken by surprise at one point. However, I love the book anyway and recommend it highly. Just because I didn't like how ended doesn't mean everyone else will too.

I found this book to be dull. I didn't care for any of the minor characters and the setting was so unremarkable. I haven't even finished the book due to how boring I find it. This book was too character driven and the character was thinking the exact same thoughts he was thinking in the earlier book. Just skip this one and try the fourth book.

The beginning just dragged for me. I almost gave up on the novel a couple times. This was definitely a letdown from the prior two Odd Thomas novels.

Odd, is a great character. His humour and personality really come through and made this book enjoyable for me. The next book in the series is even better.
