This is a great book to show a kid who is shy or afraid of other people. It teaches that appearances are not everything, and makes a nice point to start the story with strangers and to end it with family.

Illustrations are colourful and full of detail. This book takes us past a persons appearance. Delightful.

A fantastic read about giving people - especially people who are "a little bit scary" - the benefit of the doubt and remembering a common humanity. Loved it!

A touching book with a great message: appearances can be deceiving! The illustrations are very detailed and wonderful!
