Nice believable premise of a thriller.
However, doom & gloom have contrarian real life argument. Just ask Israeli folks on cancelled Lavi fighter creating diverse civilian electronics economy that affected globally.
Of course, author didn't predict Soviet Union Implosion, China & India rise of power or United States playing Global cop either. I sure didn't when I read book way back then.
