Meet Will Carter, but feel free to call him Carter. (Yes, he knows it's a lazy nickname, but he didn't have much say in the matter.) Here are five things you should know about him: 1. He has a stuttering problem, particularly around boobs and belly buttons. 2. He battles Attention Deficit Disorder every minute of every day...unless he gets distracted. 3. He's a virgin, mostly because he's no good at talking to girls (see number 1). 4. He's about to start high school.5. He's totally not ready.

The best shorthand description I can come up with for the experience of listening to audiobook reader Nick Podehl's enthusiastically expressive voice bringing Brent Crawford's writing to life is a Scrubs prequel, with Carter a combination J.D.-Turk as a high school freshman. A slightly exaggerated take on the mindset and adventures of many teen guys (all crammed into the story of one school year), narrated by a hilarious character (not many books get literal LOLs from me like this one did), with enough reality and insight to keep things grounded. Highly recommended.

A humorous coming of age tale of a boy navigating the highs and lows of freshman year of high school. I thought the author did a great job creating a character that felt genuinely real. I highly recommend the audiobook; the narrator did a great job and kept my interest through the entire book.

The first in a series about Will Carter, a teenager who is entering high school and all the strange and usually hilarious situations in which he finds himself as he navigates his freshman year. Nick Podehl does a phenomenal job bringing the story to life on the audiobook.

I really enjoyed this book, although the humor is definitely on the raunchy side. Carter seemed to be a genuine depiction of lots of the teenage boys I remember from middle-school and high-school.

Around the second-third of the book, I began to feel that the crazy situations Carter was finding himself were gimmicks. However, I was very pleased with the last third of the story.
