Add a CommentI had just finished watching the movie, “Their Finest”, and wanted more information about Dunkirk when I came across this beautiful children’s book. A little girl tells the story of how she and her fisherman father help to rescue stranded British soldiers from the beaches of France. Amazing watercolor pictures accompany the story.
This book is a treasure. The importance of people coming together in a time of great need and sorrow blows one's mind as to what the ordinary "Joe" can do. He can answer his Government's call. Girls as well.
A very nice children's picture book that tells the story of the evacuation of Dunkirk through the eyes of a young girl who helps her father in one of the rescue boats. I thought this was really well done and a pleasure to read.
