Dematerializing

Taming the Power of Possessions

The writing in "dematerializing" was really indicative of Hammerslough's history as a journalist. There could have been a lot more cohesion throughout the book from topic to topic. Overall, I felt each concept was covered in a very simplistic manner, and much of the writing read as a series of articles that were simply stitched together. The book was full of engaging personal excerpts but it did not delve deep enough into the larger questions that are frequently generated in conversations about "the power of possessions". I was hoping for more when I read the introduction to the book, but it never really delivered in the end.
