Faulkner's advice to fledgling authors, like myself(read To Cratisto by Lt Roger Wilco from amazon), was to "read everything--trash, classics, good and bad." I have done so and continue: Herodotus, Faulkner, Hemingway, Woolf, Dickens, and trash by Daniel Steele. To Kill A Mocking Bird is the most perfectly written novel.
