Head on

a Novel of the Near Future

I have been anxiously waiting for a sequel to "Lock In", a book I could not shut up about when I read it, and I consider my wait well worth it. The blend of near future and detective fiction works wonderfully still, as does Scalzi's accessible and witty prose. The focus in this book is the circling of companies looking to profit from a group of people (namely people who have Haden's Syndrome) being forced out of their primary place in certain services and products. There's a lot of money up for the taking and the people are being sidelined or killed as the case may be. The mystery is great, the characters are great, and now I eagerly wait for a third book.
