I did not really enjoy this book because I started to lose interest in the plot and the characters. The main character, Fixie Farr is very annoying and unrealistic, she can not solve her own problems and it takes the whole book for her to realize that. The other main character was Seb, it felt as if he was not really part of the book because it mostly focused on Fixie. There were many questions that I had with this book because I was unsatisfied. Some questions were why did Seb go back to his ex-girlfriend, how did Fixie and Seb make up so fast, and why is the ending not explained properly? This is the first book I read from Sophie Kinsella, so I was really disappointed. The beginning was OK, but the ending felt as though the author rushed it, the character development is also very slow, and the other characters are annoying as well (sometimes there were unnecessary arguments). But one thing I did like was that the book was family-oriented, it showed how the siblings worked together and fixed their problems and why family is important (even if it took forever to realise). I would not recommend this to first-time readers of Sophie Kinsella. @LibbyTeen of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I really enjoyed this book! The book is based around the story of a girl names Fixie Farr who takes care of her family first over herself. She spends her time helping her siblings and working at her fathers houseware store. One morning she heads to a coffee shop where a man asks her to watch his laptop. One thing leads to another and he ends up thanking her and offering an IOU and his business card. This simple morning leads to many eventful days in the book. I really liked the love/romance in this book, it’s more mature, and less like teen books. Definitely recommend this book to anybody who likes adult romance. @momo of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
