Lots of voices here already so I'll be brief: The art is good, the story is well fleshed out for a summary and one did not get lost too easily by the introduction of too many low profile characters. As other comments state, it's a little fast paced for a stand alone of it's magnitude, but there are lots of other civil war novels from the perspectives of individual heroes that flesh this out from a summary to a full story. That is the unfortunate truth of Marvel, although it is kind of cool at the same time: you have to read dozens of books by different authors printed at different times to get the full picture. Again though, this volume DOES work as a standalone.
