World Storytelling Day is a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling. Oral storytelling is telling a story through voice and gestures and can take many forms, including epic poems, chants, rhymes, songs, and more. Not all of these stories are historically accurate or even true. It is celebrated every year on the March equinox, on (or near) March 20. On World Storytelling Day, as many people as possible tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many places as possible, during the same day and night. The theme of the 2022 World Storytelling Day is 'Lost and Found'. Storytellers all over the world will tell stories on this theme. It was inspired by all that we lost in the past years, and the hope of stories inspiring us to find it again.
